Obed Kirkpatrick, founder of Berean Bible Fellowship and Sound Words Ministry, left a very successful business to start a teaching ministry in Baton Rouge, Louisiana over 25 years ago.  He was born and raised in the North Louisiana Bible belt, attending high school at Jonesboro-Hodge and then getting his college degree from the University of Louisiana – Monroe. At age 37, he left a very successful business to start a teaching ministry in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is the author of three books, Restoration, Faith of Christ and >From the Beginning to the Beginning; and he is currently working on others.

  Obed has been married over forty years to Linda Davidson Kirkpatrick, formerly of Lake Providence, LA. They have three sons. Their oldest son, Wayne, resides in Nashville, TN with his wife Fran and their three children: Kourtney, Shelby and Carson. Wayne is a producer, songwriter and singer.

  Middle son Karey makes his home in Pacific Palisades, CA with wife Nada and children: Sami and Maia. Karey is a screenwriter. Brent, the youngest of the three resides in Brooklyn, NY. He is single and is a singer-songwriter.

Obed has just recently moved to Franklin, Tennessee and has a Bible class in Brentwood, TN.
